gpf

A fast power-flow solver for large power systems. Standard cases in, a typed model and a quick Newton solve out.

What gpf does

Reads standard case formats

Load RAW, RAWX, and .m case files into one typed model, so different inputs share a single solve path.

Typed data model

Buses, branches, generators, and controls live in a validated, typed model that is easy to inspect, build, and serialize from Python.

Single-call solve

The full Newton loop runs end to end inside the native library, with no per-iteration round-trips. One call solves the case.

Detailed device and control models

HVDC, switched shunts, tap changers, phase shifters, area interchange, and generator reactive limits are represented and enforced during the solve.

Diagnostics before you solve

Surface data errors and conflicting controls up front, so a case is checked before time is spent on a solve.

Reproducible scenario studies

Run batched N-1 contingencies, compare two cases bus by bus, and guard a solution against drift, all from repeatable definitions.

Pricing

gpf is available across four tiers that differ by supported network size, from a free tier to enterprise.
